Waste recycling and the recovery of materials are ever more important in the world economy.

CMG considers recycling an important economical aspect which, with over thirty years of experience in manufacturing high-quality granulators and shredders, can offer excellent machinery for scrap recovery.

CMG granulators and/or shredders are used for the industrial recycling of several post-consumer materials such as: plastic, used bottles, wood waste, paper and documents, electric cables, fabrics, film, tyres, etc.
For the recovery of post-consumer materials and recycling large pieces of scrap or entire bales, the recovery process entails an initial rough size reduction with efficient CMG shredders.

CMG granulators then take over when further size reduction is required to obtain quality granules, flakes or powder used for regeneration or reused in productive processes, even on board the machine.

These processes save a considerable amount of money as they allow vast quantities of waste to be reused, transforming them into new raw or regenerated materials.

FILM

Grinding of bulk or reels of film obtained by extrusion is entrusted to special granulators and shredders manufactured by CMG.

During this process the film, made of polyethylene, is obtained through extrusion. Namely, the PVC mixture enters the cylinder hopper and, after having been heated progressively, melts and is transported towards the outfeed hole.

Passing through this flat shaped hole produces film or laminates of different consistency and thickness. The material used in this process is essentially LDPE.

FOAM RUBBER

The grinding of flexible expanded polyurethane (PUR), commonly called foam rubber, is entrusted to granulators and shredders manufactured by CMG, capable of reducing the size of rigid expanded polyurethane, flexible preformed foam or light rigid foam into the thermal insulating material sheets.

The forming and moulding productive process is performed by specific dispenser machines which pour a dual component (isocyanate and formulated polyol) into a preformed mould, and, coupling base and cover, produce a polyurethane padding the shape of the mould.

RUBBER

The granulation and shredding of EPDM or thermoplastic rubber is entrusted to granulators and shredders manufactured by CMG which are capable of reducing the size of pre-ground or whole rubber.

Advanced "self-cooled" rotor technology with tangential cut transforms the following materials in finished products:

PLASTIC MATERIALS

POST-CONSUMER BOTTLES

The recovery of post-consumer bottle scrap deriving from the plastic productive process or separate waste collection is entrusted to CMG which proposes customised granulators or shredders according to specific company requirements.

PAPER AND DOCUMENTS

Grinding and size reduction of paper waste, sensitive documents, paper, cardboard, packaging scrap, paper for pulping coming from magazine and newspaper returns are entrusted to CMG granulators and shredders.

Processing bulky scrap from the paper industry consists of a first size reduction with shredders, even coupled with conveyor belts, providing custom-made solutions.

A very fine and regular ground product can be obtained from this pre-shredded scrap, by passing the raw material through granulators. It can then be reintroduced for manufacturing new paper in paper production cycles.

Some granulator versions are ideal to respond to standards in force in terms of privacy and destruction of confidential documents, such as bank cheques, fiscal acts, etc.

ELECTRIC CABLES

The grinding and size reduction of electric cables is entrusted to granulators and shredders which CMG supplies to companies specialised in recovery of electric cables, processing scrap, copper pipes and nonferrous materials coming from companies in the electric sector or industrial and civil demolitions and dismantling.

This recovery saves money, allows the recycle and reuse of a large amount of waste and keeps potentially dangerous materials from being released into the environment.

During the grinding process, the cable undergoes a first shredding process to achieve size reduction and iron removal. Then the granulator creates ground material composed of plastic and copper which can undergo a subsequent dry separation of the metal from the insulating plastic by means of magnetic separators.

FILM - RECOVERY

The recovery of thermoplastic film from separate waste collection is entrusted to CMG by using granulators and shredders designed according to the requirements of the companies.

The film, bulk or in bales, first undergoes a shredding and iron removal process and then, through subsequent dry or wet granulation, is transformed into a uniform ground material suitable for recycling. [.]

TYRES

CMG supplies granulators and shredders for the size reduction of vulcanised rubber from the car and truck industry at the end of its "on the road" life.

After pre-shredding the product, the pieces are sent to the granulation phase where they are reduced in size, obtaining high quality rubber granules. The granules are again transformed into raw material for further processing in pulverising mills.
